Giants Find Out Opponent
(East Rutherford, NJ) -- The Giants will play host to the Philadelphia Eagles next Sunday in the divisional round of the NFC Playoffs. The Eagles defeated the Vikings in Minnesota 26-14 to set up the showdown. It will be the third meeting of the season between the two with each winning on the road.
Knicks Surprise Celtics
(New York, NY) -- Wilson Chandler led the way with 31 points, and eight rebounds as the Knicks knocked off the Celtics 100-88 at Madison Square Garden. David Lee had 14 points and 14 rebounds for New York, which won for the second time in three games. Al Harrington had 30 points and seven rebounds off the bench in the win. Paul Pierce totaled 31 points, seven boards and four assists for Boston, which has lost four of its last six games after a 27-and-2 start. Ray Allen added 16 points for the Celitcs in defeat.
Nets Host Sacramento
(East Rutherford, NJ) -- The Nets open a two-game homestand tonight, when they face the Sacramento Kings. New Jersey is coming off a pair of overtime games. They beat Atlanta Friday, but lost to Miami the following night. New Jersey comes into this tilt having lost three of its last four games. The Kings are making the third stop on a four-game roadtrip. They're coming off losses to Detroit and Indiana. Sacramento has dropped eight of its last nine contests.
Devils Down Sens In OT
(Newark, NJ) -- Brian Rolston tallied on the power play 1:43 into overtime to lead the Devils to a 4-3 win over the Senators at the Prudential Center. Dainius Zubrus lit the lamp twice in regulation, both assisted by Patrik Elias and Brian Gionta, while Jamie Langenbrunner's tally late in the third frame sent the game into overtime. Scott Clemmensen kicked aside 17 of the 20 shots he faced for New Jersey, which has won four-of-five. Nick Fogliano, Brendan Bell, and Chris Kelly all split the pipes for Ottawa, which got 35 saves from Alex Auld. The Sens have lost five of their last six games.
Rangers Host The Penguins
(New York, NY) -- The struggling Rangers meet the reeling Pittsburgh Penguins tonight at the Garden. The Rangers have dropped four of their last five, but Pittsburgh has lost four straight. The Rangers come into the contest tied with the Devils for second place in the Atlantic Division, one point behind the Flyers. The Blueshirts took a 2-1 loss to Washington Saturday night.
Islanders Visit The Oilers
(Edmonton) -- The Islanders continue a four game road trip tonight in Edmonton against the Oilers. The Isles have dropped 12 straight away from the Coliseum. Their last road victory came on November 24th in Montreal. The team record for a road losing streak is 15 set during the 1972-73 season.
