Weather Anchor

Paul began his career at News 12 Connecticut in September of 1989 as the evening weather anchor while also teaching Science and Language Arts. Paul is a ten-year veteran of education and was named Connecticut's Outstanding Elementary Social Studies Teacher in 1993 by the state chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

He began his weather career in 1986 as assistant at the Western Connecticut State University weather center in Danbury. It was there Paul began weather forecasting and broadcasting for a number of local and national commercial radio stations. That led to his position at News 12 Connecticut three years later. In addition, Paul also worked for the Connecticut Weather Center in Danbury and provided local radio forecasts.

Paul was honored with the 2007 Emmy award by the New York chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for On-Camera Achievement. He was awarded the 2006 & 2008 Best Weathercast by the Connecticut Associated Press Broadcasters' Association. Other highlights include two other Emmy nominations by the New England chapter (1993 and 2005), and honorable mention for Best Weathercast in the state (2004). In addition, Paul was a finalist for Fairfielder of the Year in 2007.

In addition to forecasting, Paul visits a different local elementary or middle school each week as part of his Weatherkids program which started in 1994. The hour-long session is extremely popular with students, teachers, and parents, and it affords Paul the opportunity to return to the classroom and share his affinity and passion for weather.

Paul also volunteers as the voice of Fairfield Pop Warner football, serves as master of ceremonies at the annual Fairfield Day in the Sun event for people with special needs, and emcee's Fairfield's annual Earth Day celebration.

Paul resides in Fairfield with his 14-year-old son, Billy, a martial arts student and former bat boy for the New Haven County Cutters minor league baseball team.
